Don't go it alone

In order to be successful, an organization will carefully select individuals to sit on their Board of Directors. Each chosen based on their strengths, experience and commitment. The idea being that, together, with the combined talents of each member, the success of the organization is limitless. The same philosophy can be applied to small business as well, even if that small business employs only one person…you.

No matter the size or type of business, selecting your ‘board of directors’ can play a key role in the long-term success of your organization. Surrounding yourself with those you know and trust in various fields of business can significantly impact the growth, development, challenges and profitability of your business. For example, do you know a CPA that you can call with a quick question? Do you have an attorney that you trust who will look out for your company’s best interest? How about a marketing plan? Who do you know that you can bounce ideas off of? What if you need money for expansion? Have you developed that relationship with a lender you know and trust? All these individuals should be on your ‘Board of Directors.’ They should be more than a business acquaintance, they should be your friends who really care about the future of your business.

Who is on your ‘Board of Directors’?

Keep it Personal!
