Regardless of the number of employees a business has, many of the daily functions of both big and small business are the same.  Both need things like:

  • accounting
  • payroll
  • sales
  • customer service
  • marketing

The difference is that small business has fewer people to manage these functions, so it’s essential that the proper steps are taken to ensure that momentum isn’t lost or delays occur.  In terms of marketing, specifically social media, the key is consistency.  We all know what happens when there is no consistency – “out of sight, out of mind.”  To ensure that this does not happen have a “designated champion” of your social media campaigns.  This person’s responsibility can range from all encompassing, where they are expected to post each day; to being the team leader of several people in the office who contribute to the postings on assigned days, to somewhere in between.  Either way, establish the framework from which you will manage your social media marketing.  This way when someone goes on vacation the consistency doesn’t disappear – along with your visibility in the marketplace.

Keep it perpetual.
